Bai Rui Xiang is a highly sought-after cultivar from the Wuyi Mountain. It is one of the ten famous Wuyi cliffs teas, with an incredibly distint "cliff taste" (cliff rhyme). It is roasted at medium-high heat and oxidized at traditional standards, producing thin, compact, teal-brown leaves with a rich, dry aroma.
When steeped, Bai Rui Xiang produces an amber-red liquor that is full-bodied and sweet. Its complex aroma changes with every brew. Starting with rich frankincense notes and a cinnamon aroma in the initial brews, followed by delicate fruity and floral notes in the later brews. With a fresh scent similar to that of fresh ZongYe (reed leaves) lingering underneath the tongue.
Bai Rui Xiang possesses a strong sweet aftertaste (Hui Gan), good Hou Yun ("throat rhyme" - an almost 3-dimensional sensation in the back of the tongue/throat), and very obvious Yan Yun ("rock rhyme" - an aftertaste/after sensation associated with cliff teas).
