Song Zhong, also known as “Dong Fang Hong” (Eastern Red), originates in Li Zai Ping Village in the Wu Zong Mountain Region of Feng Huang (Phoenix) Town. In 1987, many of these trees were sadly cut down, leading to a sharp drop in annual production. In September 2016, it was brought back from the brink of death through propagated cuttings! 

The tea produces a natural gardenia flower fragrance. It has a distinct “Lao Cong Yun” (deep-rooted tree rhyme). The tea liquor is sweet and full-bodied with a potent sweet aftertaste. This long-lasting tea can be enjoyed over many brews.
